Senior Structural Engineer
Ieuan Gunn BEng graduated from the Cardiff University with BEng (Hons) in Civil & Environmental Engineering.
Upon graduation Ieuan gained experience supervising site investigations for an environmental consultant, recording borehole data and preparing desk studies and reports.
Ieuan developed his career into structural engineering and now has extensive experience on a variety of projects including small to large residential developments, industrial buildings, extensions, restoration and refurbishment of domestic and historic buildings. He has experience of designing structural steel beams to allow removal of load-bearing walls, raft foundations, retaining walls, steel framed buildings, reinforced concrete members, and timber members for new roofs and loft conversions.
Ieuan is also able to undertake structural inspections to assess building defects and prepare a report on his findings.
Ieuan is currently in the latter stages of his progress to becoming a Chartered Structural Engineer.
What's the most interesting project you've worked on?
"It has to be a timber-clad steel framed house on stilts sandwiched between the Loddon and Lyde rivers. Tree root protection zones, cantilever roofs, vaulted ceilings and stability presented challenges and led to some very satisfying solutions and details."
Any inspirations or aspirations for your career?
"My next step is to get Chartered."

"Spending time with my young family, woodworking, 3D printing and neglecting my bass guitar collection."
